Under the leadership of Michael Dennin, the Office of the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning (OVPTL) is the governing office for 3 separate divisions:
DUE provides leadership, advocacy and coordination for campus initiatives that impact undergraduate education and enhance student access and retention. Working with faculty, the Academic Senate, academic support staff and others, DUE units deliver a wide variety of academic programs and services that support undergraduate teaching and learning campuswide.
DTEI improves the quality of teaching and learning at UCI and beyond through research and dissemination of evidence-based pedagogy, including the use of technology and learning spaces. DTEI directly supports the professional development of faculty, lecturers, postdoctoral researchers, and graduate students as scholarly teachers and fosters campuswide conversation about enhancing student learning.

- Access to education research community and resources at UCI
UCI Summer Session offers more than 800 courses across 70 academic disciplines each summer, including a wide variety of online classes. It is comprised of three different sessions; Session I and the 10 Week session generally begin in late June and typically finish the last week of July and the end of August, respectively. Summer Session II usually begins in early August and ends in early September. Summer Session makes it possible for students to make progress towards their degree year round, often making a difference for those who want to graduate on time or even early.
